What this site collects, which services process it, and how to see, correct, or delete your information. The site can be read without providing any information. The demo form is the only place the site asks for personal information.

Demo requests

The demo form asks for:

  • First and last name, job title, and work email.
  • Organization, organization type, and target launch date.
  • Notes about your collection. This is the only optional field.

We use it to reply and to prepare for a walkthrough. The submission reaches us by email through Formspree, a form-handling service, which also keeps a copy of it.

After you submit, the page offers a Cal.com calendar to book a time, with your name and email prefilled. Cal.com’s code loads only at that point. If you book, Cal.com handles the booking under its own privacy policy, and its calendar may set cookies of its own.

If you email us instead, the message stays in our inbox and is used the same way.

Analytics

Two services count visits.

Cloudflare Web Analytics records page views: the page, the referring site, browser and device type, and country. It sets no cookies and does not track visitors across sites.

Clicky records page views, the referring site, links followed off this site, browser and device, and an approximate location from your IP address. Its tracker script and beacon are served from this domain and relayed to Clicky. Clicky’s cookies are disabled in the site’s code. With JavaScript off, a one-pixel image still counts the visit.

Neither service receives anything entered in the demo form. There are no advertising pixels, session recordings, or chat widgets. Blocking both scripts does not change how the site works.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts the site and, like any host, sees each request as it is served, including your IP address. Error logs for the demo form are kept for a short time to diagnose failed submissions, and can include what was submitted.

Apart from the services listed below, nothing on these pages loads from elsewhere. Fonts and images are served from this site.

Outside services

The outside services that handle visitor data on this site:

  • Cloudflare. Hosts the site and counts page views. Privacy policy
  • Clicky. Counts visits and links followed off the site. Based in the United States. Privacy policy
  • Formspree. Delivers demo requests to us and keeps a copy. Based in the United States. Privacy policy
  • Cal.com. Runs the demo booking calendar after the form is submitted. Privacy policy

Some of these companies store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell or rent personal information, or share it with advertisers.

Retention

A demo request is kept in our inbox for as long as the conversation it started is active, and deleted on request. Formspree’s copy and analytics data are kept under each provider’s own retention rules.

Guides we operate

This statement covers civiccollection.com. The public art guides we build and operate for customers are separate sites, run for the organizations that own them. Questions about one of those go to that organization, or to us and we will pass them on.

Access, correction, and deletion

Email hey@civiccollection.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will answer within 30 days.

If a request cannot be met, for example because a signed contract requires keeping a record, we will say so and explain why. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can raise it with the privacy regulator where you live.
